Over 100 to 140 million women and girls go through genital mutilation

According to the report released by the WHO, over 100 to 140 young girls and women under go genital mutilation world wide. Despite the to effort from women activist and government against this issue, it is still practiced in eastern part of Uganda among the Pokot, Sabiny and Tepeth in the districts of Bukwo Kapchorwa and Kwen.Am wondering whather it is appropriate to punish young ladies by chopping off their staff?

Its too bad I wonder why the Govt does not be so serious about eliminating such acts.

Those young girls go through a lot of pain and they can even lose the love for their husbands

Why can every body rise up against female genital mutilation in Uganda? This number is worrying I thought the minister for Gender and culture was dealing with this

I think even the local leaders of those places where where such acts are done support it because those could be the first people to stand up against such acts.
