Is Iran a greater threat to the US than Al-Quaeda?

A Senate panel while discussing an alleged Iran plot to kill a Saudi diplomat was convinced that Tehran is increasingly likely to support bombings on U.S. soil, thus a threat more than Al-Qaeda.
Based on the purported nuclear program Iran is coming up with still is it worse realy?
